Soldotna Rotary Club Supports Student Summer Reading
Soldotna Rotarians joined forces with K-Beach Elementary, Soldotna Elementary, and Sterling Elementary to encourage students to read through the summer months. This fall the schools joined with Rotarians to recognize those students that read this summer.
For numerous years, Soldotna Rotary Club has partnered with K-Beach Elementary to support their RIGS (Reading Is Great in Summer) program. Each spring, students are encouraged to track their minutes of reading, and their efforts are then celebrated in the fall. Over the years, Soldotna Rotary has grown this program to other schools and now supports three elementary schools with their individual literacy programs for the summer.
