It is said that the most precious gift you can give is time. When Rotarians and their friends & family give of their time, they give a little of themselves and a part of their lives to someone else. Giving of our time for the service of others is what defines all Rotarians. This is especially true during the  holiday season when so many of our members are involved in preparing Thanksgiving dinner, toy drives, bell ringing, and our evening of fellowship at our Annual holiday party. A big thank you to Charlene Tautfest, Jess Gutzwiler, Jessica Perry, Brett Perry and Merrill Sikorski for being a  driving force in making the party a spectacular success and in so doing, bringing lots of joy and laughter to our fellow Rotarians and their guests.

Thank you to the 2022-2023 Soldotna Rotary Club Board of Directors. Without all of you I would not be able to succeed as your club's president. Thank you for trusting in me and helping to make sure this is a successful year for our club.

So many of our members give of their time and service throughout the year.  As you may know, the motto for Rotary is Service Above Self and our clubs members live their lives by this motto every day.

For me, service has many different meanings— some will participate in the Committees Mike Dye is working on building up to identify the projects worthy of our clubs support, while others will come to our events and parties to lend a helping hand, or take part in sweat equity through road/park clean ups, and there are dedicated members who just do the many activities that make things happen at our Club, whether that is finding great speakers for our lunch meetings, setting up for lunch, promoting our out club on social media, selling split the pot tickets, or organizing fun fellowship events for all to enjoy. All manner of service is worthy, valuable and appreciated by me.

Our world needs Rotary, now more than ever. Every day Rotarians improve the lives of people and to create a better world. In whatever way you choose to serve Rotary, I sincerely thank you for your ongoing commitment to our community, our Club and our members.

During the special season,  I hope you take the time to reflect on the many blessings of your life and the privilege to be of service to others. Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a bright New Year to you and your families.
